Cookie Policy

This notice, pursuant to Art. 13 of the GDPR – EU Regulation 2016/679 and Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (hereinafter, “Privacy Code”), describes how this website, owned by AT MOTORS SRL, is managed with regard to the processing of personal data of users who visit it, including in accordance with the requirements of the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Provision of 10 June 2021 “Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools” (hereinafter, “Provision”).

This notice applies only to the website mentioned above and not to other websites or sections/pages/spaces belonging to third parties that the user may access through links present on this site.

1. COOKIES AND THEIR CLASSIFICATION

1.1. Cookies

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files sent by the visited website to the user’s device (usually the browser), where they are stored so the device can be recognized on the next visit. On each subsequent visit, the cookies are sent back from the user’s device to the site.

Each cookie generally contains: the name of the server from which the cookie was sent; the expiration date; and a value, usually a unique number randomly generated by the computer. The website server that transfers the cookie uses this number to recognize you when you return to a site or navigate from one page to another.

Cookies can be installed not only by the manager of the site visited by the user (first-party cookies), but also by a different site that installs cookies through the first site (third-party cookies) and is able to recognize them. This happens because the visited site may contain elements (images, maps, sounds, links to web pages on other domains, etc.) hosted on servers different from that of the visited site.

Based on their purpose, cookies are divided into technical cookies and statistical/profiling cookies.

Technical cookies are those used solely to “carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for a provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service” (see Art. 122, para. 1, of the Privacy Code). In particular, these cookies are typically used to enable efficient navigation between pages, store user preferences (language, country, etc.), perform computer authentication, manage shopping carts, or enable online purchases, etc. Some of these cookies (called essential or strictly necessary) enable functions without which certain operations could not be carried out. Under the aforementioned Art. 122, para. 1, of the Privacy Code, the use of technical cookies does not require user consent.

Analytics cookies are treated as equivalent to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect aggregate information about the number of users and how they visit the site. These cookies allow data controllers and/or site managers to understand how users interact with the site’s content for optimization purposes.

Profiling cookies, on the other hand, are used to track user browsing, analyze their behavior for marketing purposes, and create profiles of their tastes, habits, choices, etc., in order to send targeted advertising messages related to the user’s interests and in line with the preferences shown during online browsing. These cookies may only be installed on the user’s device if the user has given consent using the simplified methods indicated in the Provision.

Based on their duration, cookies are divided into persistent cookies, which remain stored on the user’s device until they expire, unless removed by the user, and session cookies, which are not stored persistently on the user’s device and disappear when the browser is closed.

Which cookies does this site use?

Users may in any case manage their preferences regarding online behavioural advertising via the website www.youronlinechoices.com/it, which lists the main behavioural advertising providers. Through that site, users can disable or enable all companies, or alternatively adjust their preferences individually for each company.

How can cookies be disabled/modified?

To change previously expressed cookie preferences, a dedicated link to the control panel is available on the site, either at the side of the pages or in the footer (bottom part) of the site.

By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. However, it is possible to change this default configuration through the browser settings. Disabling/blocking cookies or deleting them may prevent optimal use of some areas of the site, prevent the use of certain services, and make browsing slower.

Cookie configuration depends on the browser used. Typically, cookie settings are managed from the “Preferences,” “Tools,” or “Options” menu.
